The Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce was named the 2026 PACP Chamber of the Year in the Large Chamber category for its exceptional leadership in transforming a long-neglected property into a major regional economic development and tourism asset.
The Chamber led the development of the Williamsport Lumber Yards, a $24 million regional baseball and softball complex that opened in April 2026. The project transformed a former brownfield property, once used as the city’s landfill, into a state-of-the-art athletic facility featuring multiple baseball and softball fields designed to attract regional tournaments and visitors.
The Chamber played a central role in bringing the project to fruition, securing a combination of state and local grants, community contributions, and financing to complete the development.
In addition to this landmark achievement, the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber continues to serve as a driving force for business advocacy, tourism promotion, leadership development, and economic growth throughout Lycoming County. With more than 950 members, strong financial stewardship, and a wide range of successful programs and services, the Chamber has demonstrated its commitment to strengthening both its business community and the region’s long-term economic vitality.
