Workforce Development
To ensure Lycoming County’s prosperous future economy, we must involve employers in our education process. Business professionals from all industries can help students better prepare to enter college and set out on a path to a fulfilling career. A collaborative effort made by local institutions can help identify areas where partners can work together to address pressing workforce readiness issues, better leverage resources and have a measurable impact. The Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce’s workforce development programs and affiliates emphasize business and community partnerships with schools. All students have access to education and training opportunities preparing them for high-skill, high-wage employment. We continue to work closely with our public and higher education institutions to raise the standard of education and contribute to the development of a strong local workforce that positively fuels our economy. The Pre-apprenticeship and Apprenticeship programs are run by the state.
