Mural Project
Artist Michael Pilato and Our Towns 2010 are committed to creating a fair process for selecting people. Being as objective as possible, and after asking for lists from the general public who meet the following criteria, the mural group was selected.
- People who were "firsts" in Lycoming County history.
- People responsible for important achievements, events, or trends in Lycoming County history.
- People who were legendary in Lycoming County history.
- People who have been inspirational and positively affected the lives of many others.
- People who have contributed generously in time and resources for the betterment of others and the good of the community.
- People who have established events or organizations which have enriched lives of others in the community.
- People who have accepted leadership positions in government, business, or other organizations, who have, through their leadership, improved the community.
- People who have been involved in events which have had a significant impact in Lycoming County.
- People who have done something that may not fit into any of the above, but who are recognized and loved by many for what they have done.
A committee was assembled to review and make selections; the Our Towns 2010 Board gave the final approval. The artist, Michael Pilato, has retained the ability to add persons who have been inspirational or instrumental to his mural project subject to the final approval of the Our Towns Board. The Board will allow Michael artistic discretion within the overall approved design of the project.
